Hi there! You’ve been waiting for it and here it is: my skincare routine!
I never thought I’d be posting such an article given I’m definitely not a beauty blogger. It’s only recently that I started to get interested in beauty products and skincare. I think growing up (not to say aging) makes you aware of what’s under the surface (understand makeup) and willing to do things right in order to preserve your skin from time and life damages. I won’t  pretend to give precious advice that are gonna change your life but I’m only sharing the products I daily use and that work for my skin, I’m not adventurous when it comes to beauty so when I find a product I like I generally stick to it for a very long time!
This article is in no way sponsored and I genuinely use the products featured, I basically believe that all skincare products tend to be very similar and I wouldn’t be able to tell that those I’m using are the best. Also, as for body metabolism and hair type, you can’t fight against genetic: for example I myself never experienced acne when I was a teenager (trust me I had other struggles to deal with…) which explains why I don’t have any scars. By this I mean that no matter what you do if your skin has a tendency to be in a certain way it might remain like this your whole life and you have to cope with it, using the exact same products as someone else obviously won’t have the same effect on your skin. The following routine works quite fine for me; I have a sensitive skin with a little redness which tends to turn oily at the end of the day and when I wake up.

There are a few rules you should follow to maximize your chances to have a nice glow :
– Get some sleep. I myself have issues going to bed early and not partying on the weekend but I do appreciate when I can get a lot of sleep and take naps!
– Clean and moisturize. I love cleaning my skin with the Bioderma Micellar water, I’ve been using it since I was in high school and never found something that suited my skin better. I put some on a cotton round and clean my face at least twice a day (usually in the morning to remove what remains of night cream and at night to remove my make up). Twice a week I also use the L’Oreal detox clay cleanser while I wash my hair. The next step should always be to moisturize your skin to kind of heal it from the cleansing depending on your skin type.
– Don’t touch your face. Do you have the slightest idea of how dirty our hands are? I mean, I wash my hands as often as possible but can’t avoid the germs that are on my phone, keyboard, bag, light buttons, doors, etc. So for god’s sake don’t you ever touch your face during the day unless you just washed your hands cause that’s what is gonna cause breakouts.

– Don’t smoke. This is no mystery that smoking turns your glow down try not to.
Eat clean. For endless reasons eating clean is also taking part in the quality of your skin, fruits, vegetables and water are a winning combo in wich you can add everything you want (for example I couldn’t live without meat and french fries) just maintain those basis and you’re good.
– Remove your make-up. To me that’s the most important of those « rules », even when I go back home drunk after a party I will always remove my make-up. First because I love doing this (favorite moment of the day) and also because you can’t let your skin suffocate under layers of make-up! You skin needs to breath otherwise breakouts will show up and your face won’t look bright and fresh. To this end I’ve been using for my eyes the Cils Demask by Gemey since I did my make-up for the very first time. It’s actually my Mom who was using it and I’ve got to say I never found a better make-up remover. For the rest of my face I’m using the Bioderma micellar water (thank god it comes in a big container since I have an industrial consumption of it!).
You probably had already heard those advice but a little reminder never hurts right ?

A few months ago I got the chance to try several Darphin products for the first time and I must admit I’m pretty satisfied with the quality of them. In the morning after cleansing my face with some Bioderma micellar water and prior to do my make-up I moisturize my skin with either the Ideal Ressource face cream (when my face is dry), the Ideal Ressource serum (when my skin is in a « normal state ») or the Intral serum which relieves redness and doesn’t make your skin oily since it almost has the texture of water and dries on your face.

At night I off course carefully remove my make-up, wait a few minutes and then apply either the Nivea Q10+ night cream and/or the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. I have been using the Nivea Q10+ night cream for about 8 years now and I never got tired of its soothing smell, smooth texture and mask effect that you can notice the next morning. It is so affordable and you get a lot of use out of it, I highly recommend! As far as the Estée Lauder serum is concerned, I heard a lot of good things about it and it’s well deserved. The smell isn’t appealing and neither is the texture (which is a sign it’s a good product to me) but I do notice it tightens my pores and enhances the glow even if you didn’t get enough sleep.

Twice a week I do masks either a washable one or a sheet mask if I have one at home. That is the part I’m a little more adventurous with since I try a new one every time I run out of the current one. These day’s I’m using the Masque des reines by Sanoflore which contains royal jelly among other good stuff. It’s a gift from my friend Julia who is a beauty guru and my personal skincare adviser. The texture is thick, perfectly covers your skin and it does give some bright glow to my pale face! In the meantime I’m currently trying the Kocostar sheet masks which are also really satisfying but I couldn’t tell if they’re better than any other to be honest.

In addition I wanted to quickly talk about what I use to moisturize my body in general. I have a highly sensitive skin and must moisturize my body with something thick, without perfume, etc. My dermatologist advised the Lipikar Baume AP+ by La Roche Posay and it’s indeed a good product, clearly unpleasant to use, but efficient. With the warmer weather I think I’m gonna try something else maybe lighter and see, I keep you posted.
I’m not the biggest fan of oils but when it comes to my poor fragile nails they’re game changers. I mainly use the Ameera Liquid Gold and the Jessica Oil which is way better.
