For those who were waiting to see my Nope vest in action, here it is! It used to be a plain denim jacket that I embroidered with pearls to write the word « nope » and I also cut the sleeves to make it a summer piece. You can’t imagine how thrilling this is to have your live reactions on snapchat when you follow the steps of my sewing and crocheting obsession.
This vest is going to be a center piece of my style this season, thrown on any top and paired with jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts, well everything actually!
I really wanted to emphasize that satisfying hobby that frees my mind and teaches me patience by pairing the vest with another creation of mine: the off-white crochet top. I had made my first one last summer for Ibiza and got so much wear out of it so I decided to develop a bit my collection. It is co cute and comfy since you don’t have to wear a bra under and don’t worry since it’s 100% cotton it doesn’t keep you warm. A cropped-top can be tricky to wear when you don’t live nearby the sea. Putting a vest or a long jacket on is a clever way to cover a bit more but still exposing these abs your sweated so much for.
There is something truly special about wearing a piece you created or designed yourself, as if you both were in a perfect harmony since the inspiration comes from you and leads to you. To find inspiration for crafting sessions I spend much time on social media and Pinterest (where you can also follow me here). Sometimes a few smart changes can turn a piece into another, give a different twist and you can even recreate expensive catwalk pieces.
Let me know if you also make your own clothes sometimes and tag me on Instagram, I’d be glad to see your creations! Bisous.
