Still can’t realize that I’m back and don’t know where to start to tell you about my trip to the Philippines. When I booked my flight earlier this year I obviously hadn’t thought of how far this destination was, cause let’s be honnest: it’s on the other side of the world! I took off with my friend Mira to join our filipino doll Ella and that’s crazy to think that we all three met last summer during our internship at Karla Otto, life is definitely well made.
Barely off the plane in Manila we were already boarding another one for 3 days in Boracay Island with the girls. Despite the rain (seasons are reversed from Europe) we had time to enjoy the most beautiful white sandy beach I had ever seen. This Island is known as being the place to party and have fun in the Philippines thanks to its seaside clubs and aquatic facilities, and cherry on top: fruit shakes and cocktails are really affordable (just saying). I had the pleasue to ride a skimboard in this breathtaking landscape and felt so alive throwing myself back to that summer I learned how to surf it.
For our second escape, Mira and I had a driver take us to Layia coast for 2 days. After a few hotel setbacks we finally dropped our luggage in a lovely room by the beach with excellent Wi-Fi (significant advantage I swear). The water was the clearest ever and we had fun driving a jetski to admire the landform of the island from the sea.
Back in Manila we didn’t miss the occasion to go out with Ella and her friends and also to go shopping in incredible malls. These infrastructures are so huge they could be cities by themselves and even though we tried, it was impossible to visit all the aisles and stores. If you go to Manila I advice you to head to Mall of Asia, one of the biggest in the world and to stop by Green Belt for its wonderful architecture.
Now I’m back in Paris, broke, but rich of countless memories. It was so good to extend my boudaries, to make mistakes, to see the world from another perspective and appreciate more what I had always taken for granted. I’d like to thank all the amazing people I met, my babe Mira for being the best travel mate and a very special thank to Ella and her family for their kindness and generosity. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, as well as the pictures on my Instagram and Snapchat and see you soon for upcoming adventures! Bisous.

Hi Raphaëlle, love the pictures. How was your time in Boracay?
Thanks! Boracay was really great even though it was a bit rainy, the beach was just amazing! Bisous
The people are, simply, Filipinos – and proud of it. Welcoming, warm and relentlessly upbeat, it is they who captivate and ultimately ensnare visitors. The Philippines isn’t just about finding an isolated beach and getting catatonic.
Couldn’t agree more! Bisous
Nice trip and nice photos! Now I wish I could discover the Pilippines ;) Moreover I love all the bikinis you have, particularly the blue one ;) Really trendy, nice choice ;) If you want to find others for your next exotic holidays you could have a look on carla-bikini.com ;) have a nice day!
