This month I’m taking you to Géraldine’s closet! You’ll quickly notice we have a common addiction to black pieces which turned our shoot into a fashion comedy, of course concluded with a happy end. This fashion lover from Belgium introduced me to her covetable shoes collection and I’m more than happy to share this moment with you:
What do you do in life? I’m a Belgian student in communication and PR currently in Paris thanks to an Erasmus program. I used to own a fashion blog but had to stop it owing to a lack of time when I was an intern at the Belgian edition of ELLE magazine. When I have some free time I enjoy walking in the streets of this lovely city, attending all the fashion exhibitions and I practice a very typical parisian sport: shopping!
Can you give us a fashion hotspot we can head to when in Belgium? Yes, I used to work for Kure, a great multibrand store owned by a local fashion blogger in Brussel. This place features highly covetable brands you’ll find nowhere else and many pieces in my closet were bought there.
How would you describe your style? I would say rock-chic but always in an effortless way. When I dress I don’t want the result to look too obvious or sophisticated, as if the way I had mixed the pieces together was the result of serendipity.
Who are your favorite designers and brands? If I had to wear only one brand for the rest of my life I’d chose Saint Laurent Paris! Hedi Slimane is a real genius and I’d like to fill my closet with his creations but I don’t think my banker would agree! Same for Givenchy, Chanel and the inevitable Balmain! Regarding wallet-friendly brands, I also like Anine Bing’s style which is a scandinavian interpretation of Isabel Marant’s work, Zara and Sandro.
Who are your style influencers? I check Sincerlyjules‘ Instagram every day, it seems so easy for her to pair staples together and look just perfect! I also follow Song of Style and some Belgian accounts like @Sidou07.
What are the key pieces of your closet? I could wear a pair of anthracite ripped jeans every day, a leather jacket of course and I usually splurge on designer bags and shoes rather than clothes.
Is there a trend you’d like to put an end to? Leggings worn like trousers in the street and I’m not a huge fan of Adidas Superstar neakers but who knows, maybe one day I’ll get used to them.
3 things you couldn’t live without? My phone, my friends/family and desserts!
What can we wish for your future? Getting an internship or even a position as a fashion editor for a magazine and since I’ve been said that we have to dream big, I’m targetting Vogue Paris!
